Ok, So A Creature Double Feature!

Babaloo and I were both off today, so we took in a couple of movies at the old cinema....and surprisingly, this movie snob (Hi, Rodan!) enjoyed both of them!Very cute movie. I thought the beginning kinda dragged a little bit and felt like the other two, but then it became more...emotional. I'm not really sure how, but it felt like a different movie. And, the last ten minutes? Yeah, like a baby.
Holy crap. We talked about this one a little bit on 154 (which I will get to editing tonight after dinner), and upon Taffy's request over the last week, and Babaloo really wanting to see it, I obliged him and went in. Seriously, one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's absolutely amazing. Great action and a plot that takes a brain cell to follow. This is a thinkin' man's summer blockbuster. This one HAS to be nominated for an Academy Award. (And I bet Toy Story 3 gets a nom for best picture as well...Won't win, but may get a nomination.)

Ok, So, We Saw The Iron Man Movie, Don'tchaknow.....

A good movie. Was it the greatest movie ever? Of course not, it's not Xanadu for crissake's! But an enjoyable romp. All the casting was great (except for.....Gwynneth...) and it stayed very true to the origins while updating them for a modern time. And the easter egg at the end of the credits was AWESOME!!! Totally not expecting it, even though I had read rumors about it a while back.

We went to a late movie - 12:30. AM. I used to do that with Rodan all the time when we were mere cubs in twink's clothing. Where IS Rodan??! I've heard (wide) hide nor hair (on the back) from him in TWO weeks! WTF?

"Justice League" is no longer moving faster than a speeding bullet.
Warner Bros. let the options lapse on the young cast that director George Miller chose to play DC superhero staples. The studio, which had set Tuesday as its greenlight deadline for the pic, confirmed Wednesday the project is on indefinite hold.
Project now most likely won't get under way until late summer or fall at the earliest.
Cast members were informed late Tuesday their options would not be exercised, but they were also assured the studio is determined to make the film with them in it. But before that can happen, there are several problems to be resolved.
The studio's reasons included not getting the official response it needed on tax breaks from shooting in Australia. And while WB execs like the script they got from Kieran and Michele Mulroney, it would benefit from a little more work, something that isn't possible because of the writers' strike.
Some were surprised the studio didn't exercise cast options anyway. The deals gave WB the flexibility to exercise the deals immediately, or in July, and the actors will be making salaries in the low six-figure range. While Adam Brody, cast as the Flash, has a track record, most of the cast comprises such newcomers as Armie Hammer Jr., who plays Batman, and Megan Gale, who will play Wonder Woman.
The studio risks losing them to other film jobs. But it is likely most if not all the cast will make sure to be available starting late summer and fall, just in case. That's because of the starmaking potential of "Justice League."
Studio had set this week as the deadline to greenlight the superhero tentpole, which it was racing to get into production for 2009 release. That was always considered a dicey proposition, particularly when the writers went on strike, and because the film needs to be completed before the SAG deal expires in June.
With "Justice League" on indefinite hold, the studio has a superhero gap on its 2009 slate; status of the next "Superman" pic is also uncertain.

Apparently, there's going to be a third one of these High School Musical monstrosities that TLH and Lollipop are obsessed with. This one is going to be titles High School Musical 3: Senior Year and will be IN THEATRES on October 24, 2008. Filming is to begin the spring.

They should have called it High School Musical 3: That Guy Has Jizz In His Hair.

So, I am home sick today - got a touch of the sore throat and light headedness, and I am going stir crazy. I went to the apple movie trailers site and saw a preview for Purple Violets, starring Edward Burns, Patrick Wilson, Debra Messing and Selma Blair. Trailer looks like a good movie, and it comes out next week.

Ok, So A Cool Movie For The Holiday Season....

Ok, so...."Win"

Taffy and Taffy's Husband and I were all together yesterday, and the subject of Rocky came up. (Don't ask how...I have no idea - it was some random stray thought that flew out of my head.) Anywho, I was talking about a particular scene from Rocky II (a film that was canon in the Latte Boy's South Jersey childhood home.) It's the scene where Ardian gives her blessing to Rocky to fight Apollo Creed. Anyway, they have the scene in all it's (cheesy) gloriousness on the Youtube. All I could think when watching the montage that comes after the famous "win" line is no wonder Slyverster Stallone needs sterods or growth hormones or whatever he was just detained for in an airport in Germany. It's a wonder the man can still walk!



And, finally, because I'm apparently in a 1977 kinda mood, here is, in my opinion, one of the best movie endings of all time. The music, the red white and blue, the overacting...It all comes together in a creshendo that, well, makes me tear up every time I see it. And yes, I'm serious. Maybe because it reminds me of time with my dad.
