Ok, So Let's Wash Away Some Of The Hate With A Nice Little Story About Trees and Polar Bears...
(Associated Press)LOS ANGELES – Walt Disney Studios is turning box-office cash from its nature documentary "Earth" into seed money to plant trees in the rain forest.
Disney had announced it would plant one tree in Brazil's endangered Atlantic rain forest for every viewer who saw the movie during its first week. According to Disney, the box-office tally hit $16.1 million, which translates to 2.7 million trees.
The trees are being planted by the Nature Conservancy, which is trying to reforest 2.5 million acres in the rain forest.
"Earth" is narrated by James Earl Jones and follows a year in the lives of three families of polar bears, elephants and humpback whales.

THIS IS IT! A JUMBO SIZED 100th episode of Pod Is My Copilot. Thank you all for your patience, and thank you to Cassie in Montana and Pat Gaik for our intro. The Copilots talk about how Taffy recently fisted Tank, Rodan finds out that a little nibbling CAN be painful, Taylor and Babaloo get the essentials for camping, Facebook Follies...oh yeah, and Log Cabin Republicans....and much more. Plus SOME of your questions.
This episode is our first show where ALL of us taped on GarageBand...we are still working out some of the kinks technically, but I (Taylor) feel that this one of our best episodes ever! Ok, So The Natives Are Getting Restless.....
Many of you have spoken to all three of us wondering when Episode 100 is coming out. I came home today to find multiple e-mails and facebook messages asking, "What the hell?" So, I figured I would just let you all know what's up....
I had severe technical issues with my track for Episode 100, and as a result, the show had to be scrapped. As a result, we will be taping a NEW show....again....in the near future. Given the more so than usual busy schedules of all three hosts, I am not sure when that will be, but it will be soon! We are not going to do a "Drink Til We're Funny" on you guys and disappear for almost a year....We are working on trying to map out a meeting time where we can tape the quality show you all deserve, and that we can all be proud of.... and yes, given the common discussion of bukakke and Taffy's vagina, I see the irony in my statement.
Until then, let's just take in the sight of what looks to be a....um, fun evening in a motel room somwhere?

LOS ANGELES -"Project Runway" finally has a date to reunite with fans after sewing up its legal battle: The show's sixth season will start Aug. 20.
Lifetime, the new cable TV home for the designer-competition series, announced the season premiere along with a new companion series, "Models of the Runway."
"Project Runway," hosted by model Heidi Klum and once part of the Bravo channel lineup, had been trapped in lawsuit limbo. It was the subject of a dispute involving NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, the Weinstein Co. and the Lifetime channel.
The dispute began last April when NBC Universal sued Weinstein after the production company made a reported $150 million deal with Lifetime for "Runway." In a settlement announced earlier this month, NBC Universal said it would be paid by Weinstein for the right to move it to Lifetime.
Lifetime says "Models of the Runway," which looks at the reality competition from the models' viewpoint, will follow "Project Runway."
Ok so...Artichoke and Parmesan Quiche!!!
I made this for a Teacher Appreciation Day luncheon ... It looked so good I wanted to cut a little piece for me!
- 5 eggs
- 1/3 cup half-n-half or heavy cream
- 4 oz soften cream cheese
- 1 (14oz) can artichokes, rinsed, drained and chopped
- 2-3 tbsp fresh thyme, minced
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup shallots, diced small
- ¼ tsp Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pre-packaged 9” pie dough round
- Preheat oven to 425˚ F
- In a large bowl, beat eggs, half-n-half/heavy cream, and cream cheese. Stir in artichokes, thyme, cheeses, shallots, salt and pepper. Set aside.
- On a clean work surface, gently roll out dough round slightly. Gently place into a 9” pie dish, fluting the edges.
- Pour artichoke mixture into pie dough. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Ok, So GayTown Has It's Mailboxes
This upcoming weekend is the Bereavement Camp I do for work every year, and our theme is "The Journey." (Awaiting Steve Perry jokes in the comment section.) Anywho, during the memorial service, we are having the campers put messages to their loved ones in a mailbox that is their cabin color as a way of expressing how they feel since their loved ones have died. (Happy stuff, huh?) I was in charge of painting the mailboxes, and here they ams!

So, last night was our 1 year anniversary (at least that's what Babaloo says...I still say it's March 19th, but whatever...) Anyway, we had a wonderful night last night, with a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, a quick jaunt to the Apple Store (where I bought AppleCare for my computer from a cute guy - hey, B and I BOTH thought he was cute, relax - I wasn't checking out guys alone on our anniversary), and Starbucks, followed by a couple of hours on the couch laughing at some South Park and Family Guys we had on the TiVO. We each got each other a little sumpin sumpin - go over to Babaloo's blog to see what I got him! We had a price limit on what we can spend, and Babaloo did me good! I got me another Barefoot Contessa cookbook.
I am officially stating on the record that I will have the Huffingtons over for dinner one night from something I learned how to make in this cookbook! Dinner party, hurrah!

First, let me say how much I abhor lolcats....but the picture seemed kiiinda appropriate, so...Pod Is My Copilot started getting spammed this morning while Taffy and I were posting - some asshole was trying to send you all links to some website where you can check out a camera or something. While I was changing the comment publication status, the same person sent ANOTHER comment. So, for the time beings, comments are going to have to be moderated and approved before I put them on the blog. Once this goes away, so will the need for comment moderation.

After Chrissy Schilling had her first baby over the weekend, her twin sister Kathy cooked up the placenta and they had a feast. They put it on pasta and on a sandwich. They even put pictures of the meal on Facebook!
Twin sister Kathy says:
I would say that the placenta is so nourishing for the baby during pregnancy that there is still much to gain from it even after the birth. It's a good 6 lbs of meat that's just chockful of lingering blood, vitamins, and hormones that can still in part be transferred upon eating -- even through cooking. When I cooked it, I cleaned the surface blood off of it, but kept anything that seaped out of it into the sauce. I know I was feeling pretty giddy while eating, so maybe that was some of the happy hormones effects taking place.
