Ok, So What The Hell?

So this is my walk from this morning - I almost did the whole 5k. But while my time is not all that thrilling, I am more concerned with my speed, or rather, the ups and downs of my pace, according to the Nike+ software. While I may occasionally slow down and speed up a LITTLE bit, I think I would remember slowing down THIS much, and at such a high frequency.

That being said, the majority of my workout was to Janet Jackson, and if I had to guess, that really low dip would have come around the time "That's The Way Love Goes" showed up on my workout playlist. A Great song, but not really one that gets you pumped up...well, not in that way, anyway....

Chinese pianist Lang Lang headlined a concert at San Francisco's Davies Symphony Hall on April 19th. For the first of three encores, he played The Flight of the Bumblebee on an iPad. To accomplish this, he used the Magic Piano iPad app. This is just one example of how amazing apps can allow people to do amazing things, and the party has just started.

[To clarify, the Magic Piano app does do a lot of the work in playing a piece like that; it drops down indicators for the correct notes, so the pianist has to get 'pretty close' and have the rhythm correct. Still impressive.

Sooooooo, Miss Lollipop just returned from Daytona Beach where she auditioned for her university's Cheerleading Squad. She did an amazing job, however I am sure that the other 250+ girls trying out did as well. She will not know if she made the squad until the 18th...so until then...here is her ass.

...but I am headed off to my work's annual bereavement camp this afternoon. All that's left to do is pack up Rocco and drop him off at Drum and B'gosh's place. I will be back on Sunday afternoon, exhausted from all the fun of making children cry over dead people, then denying them access to cell phones to call home. I'm in the teen cabin this year - woo hoo. Anyway, Episode 140, which we taped earlier in the week, is going to be delayed, but it is forthcoming. We plan on taping early next week, so we might just make up the delay by throwing out TWO episodes at once! How's that for a deal - kinda like a buy one, get one sort of thing...only you don't buy these...I digress.

Anyway, I'm leaving the blog maintenece (i.e. I expect funny when I get home) up to Taffy, so everyone - see you on Sunday!

I have to say I'm really pleased with myself here namely because this time was done with NO running. I usually run the last 1/4 of the last 1/4 of each mile, but, thinking that I won't be running during the 5k because I don't want to take the chance of Taffy trying to run, and possibly injuring herself, plus I figure other participants would be angry when I knock them down with my fifth grader.

Oh, and today, Lance Armstrong congratulated me on my new personal best.

My goal is to get a 16 in my pace by the end of the month.
