Okay...So...NBC is currently promoting its new series on Amazon Unbox allowing you to download the premier episodes of Bionic Woman, Chuck, Journeyman and Life for FREE!
Here are my thoughts on Chuck:
Chuck is an interesting premise, as the name would suggest it is about Chuck a Gen Xer...perpetually afraid to reach for his potentenial, who becomes the most valuable tool for the CIA and NSA.
The pilot starts out strong with Chuck awkwardly trying to meet women at his birthday party intercut with his college friend stealing a secret database from the CIA-NSA computer and then blowing the thing to pieces. The action and comedy are doled out in perfect doses with Chuck getting rejected by the ladies and receiving an email with the CIA-NSA secrets encoded via slideshow.
The agents sent to recover the secret file provide some spy vs spy fun with Chuck tagging along in bewilderment. Overall the pilot sets up an interesting universe where Chuck will have to leverage the secrets downloaded into his brain to keep the country secure all while trying to hold down his job as the Nerd Herd supervisor.
If the producers can maintain the blend of action and comedy Chuck looks to be a winner...check it out.
