I am a fan of the Amazon Unbox because it allows you to download directly to your TIVO something Apple still hasn't been able to figure out. In addition the video quality on Amazon Unbox seems to be a notch above iTunes. Although not as intuitive as iTunes.
So far I've had the opportunity to watch two of my most anticipated fall shows...Bionic Woman and Chuck.
I have had high hopes for Bionic Woman since I heard one half of the pair behind Battlestar Galactica was bringing this cheesy 70's staple back to life. The new version takes place in the present with Jaime Sommers as a college dropout taking care of her hacker sister, tending bar, and dating a college professor..who just happens to be the key engineer of a top secret government entity buiding Bionic people. The series doesn't quite say if this is the same top secret government entity that employed the original Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman. The pilot starts out strong with a bit of backstory concerning the original bionic woman,
Starbuc...er...Sarah Corvis in a very cool bit of stunt casting. Katee Sackoff proves to be an excellent villian. Unfortunately the story around the new bionic woman isn't quite as interesting. The pilot certainly shows some potential and sets up an interesting world, but it wasn't nearly as enthralling as the Heroes or Lost pilots and it is doubtful it will see the same level of success.Overall give this one a chance, NBC has vested interest in making
this show work and it is from 50% of the team that brought us Battlestar Galactica so it deserves the benefit of a doubt or two.Watch for my thoughts on Chuck...
