Ok, So I Should Be Happy....But All I Do Is Buy Songs on iTunes....

Damn you, Glee...just when I was thinking I was out, you throw "A House Is Not A Home" at me...then the one/two punch of that song AGAIN COMBINED with one of my all time favorite songs, "One Less Bell To Answer." THEN you finish with "Home?!?"

You suck. See you next Tuesday.

Ok, So For Your Considertation...Next Year's Emmy For Female Guest Star In A Comedy Goes To...

Jan Hooks in last week's 30 Rock. The Duet with Jane Krakowski was one of the funniest things I've seen all season. Even if you aren't a fan of this show (and why wouldn't you be, really?) You need to watch Hooks in this episode.

Ok, So Too Many Jelly Donuts...

So, after watching SYTYCD tonight, I can't help but feel that I have watched the equivalent of a box of jelly donuts. They taste great at the time, but then you're left with a headache and wondering why you did that to yourself. SYTYCD, along with a multitude of other shows I watch, have begun to really disappoint me this season. Part of it may be that I have bitten off more than I could chew as far as a number of shows, part of it may be that many of the shows I watch (i.e. Reality programs) are pretty much all the same and the formats have gotten stale, or part of it may be that I am just kinda watching shit shows. It's kinda sad to me that two of my shows I SO used to look forward to, Project Runway and America's Next Top Model, have their season finales this week, and I can't he happier that I'm getting a couple more hours back in my week! I've already dropped Ugly Betty and as of last night, The Venture Brothers (that one hurt, I'll be honest, but I'm not willing to smoke pot on Sunday nights to find the humor in a half hour cartoon.) and am finding the following shows to be "on the chopping block."

So You Think You Can Dance? - last season was an absolute tour de force! This season appears to be lackluster and just sorta meh. I seem to recall early on in the show's history Nigel bringing out all the dancers at the end of a show and telling them all they need to step it up because the episode was embarrassing. If something equivalent to that doesn't happen soon, there's a really good chance I'm out for the season. (And I also posted on my facebook page tonight that Travis Wall could take a shit on stage right now and the three hosts would be fighting over who got to kiss his ass first. You're proud of him - WE KNOW!!! You can't help but wonder if they get a cut of his future earnings as choreographer or something the way they preen over him.)

30 Rock - I'm currently watching the first season again on Netflix and this show appears to have really slid down this year. It's focusing a little too much on quirky (we get it, Tracy Jordan's crazy) and not enough on some of the more nuanced jokes that made the first season a real classic. (And I don't think I ever realized just how fucking hot Alec Baldwin is. I mean I know he's always been good looking, but ga-damn!) If I do give this show up, I will be REALLY sad.

Top Chef - I'm in for the season, Taffy, don't worry, but as the season has progressed, I find myself thinking this is the douch-iest of all the reality shows I watch. Between the judges and the contestants, this is a show where narcissism is at an all time high. The fact that out of the top five contestants three of them are assholes, and one of them looks like a raging alcoholic party girl (guess who?), I am quickly losing my will to want to watch it. So help me God if Kevin doesn't win this season....

Project Runway - The only reason I will definitely go back next season is that we have been assured that Nina Garcia and Michael Kors will be back to judge every week, ensuring that the contestants' work will be looked at over time vs. some really interesting designer's (Ra'mon) won't be let go so early on in the season. And, let's face it, they can't possibly find more bland people to be on next season, right? RIGHT!?

America's Next Top Model - I made my demands known to Tyra (you know she's a huge fan of PiMC) in a post earlier this week. If those demands aren't met....

Now, to end on a more positive note, there are other shows that I love and continue to enjoy, including Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, Modern Family, Glee, The Office and The Barefoot Contessa. I'm also looking forward to watching some missed shows on DVD/Netflix including True Blood, Mad Men, In Treatment and Battlestar Galactica. What do you think, people? Am I completely wrong here?

Ok, So Their Primary Mission: To Hold Back Taffy From The Owners....

Intern research technician Babaloo (he came up with the name, not me) wanted me to share this with all of you today....

Ok, So Thanks, Fucker!

So yesterday, I am sitting in my office, minding my own business when Babaloo brings in the mail like a good boyfriend/Mexican housekeeper. Along with the usual bills and ads, there was a box from Amazon. I know I didn't order anything, and the box was addressed to Taylor T. Latteboy, so I figured that someone bought me a gift! And I was right!!!! What an awesome pleasant surprise!!!!

Thank you to Cassie in Montana for It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Seasons 1 and 2. I love this show, and am thrilled to share this twisted show with Babaloo, who has never seen it! I'll let him watch it on his breaks.

Thank you, Cassie! Love you!!!

Ok, So I Guess It Was Only A Matter Of Time...

It finally got cancelled.  How will Doug pay his DUI fines?  And what about Laurie?  Will people still want her to paint their walls orange and call it "Waarrrrrm Puummmmmpkin?"  But it is still sad.  It IS the show that gave the world Ty Pennington, and for that we will all be thankful.

(Yeah, trust me, I couldn't get that out with a straight face either....)

Ok, So Baby, If You Ever Wondered.....

CINCINNATI – WKRP is back on the air in Cincinnati — but this time it's for real.
A low-power TV station has changed its call letters to WKRP, the same as the fictional radio station in the 1970s hit series "WKRP in Cincinnati."
The station changed its call letters to promote its new digital TV signal. It formerly went by WBQC-TV.
General Manager Elliott Block says the new call letters give the station recognition because so many people remember the television (AP)

One of the funniest moments in television....and fitting given the weekend...

Ok, So I'm Sure Taffy Is Signing Up The Littlest Huffington As We Speak...

From Reality Blurred:

The continued success of Top Chef has led Bravo to order two new cooking-themed shows, including a spin-off of Top Chef called Top Chef Junior.

That show—shouldn’t it be Junior Top Chef or Top Junior Chef?—will be “an eight episode series where teens (likely ages 13 to 16) will compete to see if they have what it takes to become a junior ‘Top Chef,’” according to a Bravo press release.

In the release, Bravo EVP Frances Berwick said, “With ‘Top Chef Junior’ we’re reaching a growing market and are developing a series that will teach and test the skills of younger aspiring chefs and appeal to the whole family.” And as we all know, kid-themed series do super-well.

Meanwhile, the network will also produce an yet-to-be-titled show that follows chef Jean-Christophe Novelli’s “move to Los Angeles as he opens a cooking school and trains professional chefs and those who aspire to cook like professionals,” Bravo says, taking care to point out that he was “[v]oted ‘World’s Sexiest Chef’ by The New York Times, Novelli is a Michelin and 5AA Rosette award-winning chef with restaurants in London, France and South Africa.” It’s produced by Work Out producers Mentorn USA.

Ok, So....Rescue Me, Season 1

A co-worker of mine let me borrow Rescue Me: Season 1 last JUNE, and I just got around to watching it within the last few weeks.

I liked it. I really liked it. A LOT.

The show is going to be starting it's 5th season (I think) this summer, and I am going to be working desperately to try and get all caught up before it starts. For those of you not in the know, Dennis Leary stars as a firefighter in New York City Post 9-11. While he is the main character of the show, the show is really about the firefighters and how they are clearly a family. There is a LOT of comedy in this show, but many of the conversations and arguments have a realness to them you don't normally see in television. (There is a scene early on between Leary and his estranged wife that I may have seen between my own parents around 1986.) Plus there is lots of hot guys banging girls (who I ignore), and really, who wouldn't want to watch these guys getting out of the shower in the first episode?

So, in this writer's strike wasteland of a television season, if you are looking for something fun and well written to watch, grab this show!!!

Ok, So I'm Catching Up On My "Stories"....

I think we may have an underdog in Project Runway's Sweet P. I can't stand her personality, but I am loving her stuff more and more with each passing week. And I want someone to create something for your television where you can reach in and bitch slap someone, because if that latina Ricky cries on camera one more time, so help me.....gurrrrl, you better cowboy up.

And without giving away who goes home on the Biggest Loser this week, I have to say I agree with the rest of the teams sent home. And much like the green team of week 1, black team? Uh, yeah, that little brother is going to snap one of these days and end up on a tower picking people off......Someone needs his big brother's approval WAAAAAAY too much.

Anyone else a little sad this is all I have to do tonight? Note to self: Add vodka and mixers to the shopping list for the week.

Ok, So The Huffingtons Are Not The ONLY Loud Family...

(from http://www.realityblurred.com/)
On Tuesday, with the TV-watching world focused on the debut of American Idol 7, a significant anniversary passed: It was the 35th anniversary of the debut of An American Family, the show that inspired The Real World, which in turn inspired most of what we now consider to be reality television. The series debuted Jan. 15, 1973, and while shot like a documentary, it was essentially a 12-hour soap opera starring a real family.
While Amazon has a product page for a DVD of the series, one has not yet been released, nor has there been any announcement of an impending DVD release. However, there is a fantastic book about the show, An American Family: A Televised Life; Jeffrey Ruoff’s detailed look at the series isn’t a substitute for watching it, but does explain all you’d want to know about its production and reception.
Five years ago, just before the series’ 30th anniversary, PBS aired a documentary about the final years and death of Lance Loud, one of the show’s stars. As Thomas Heald reminds us, the show also followed “parents Bill and Pat and their kids Grant, Kevin, Lance, and Michelle,” and during one episode, Pat told Bill that she wanted a divorce, captivating the nation.
I have heard about this series for years now, and have always been curious to see t. Have any of you ever watched it? And what did you think. I know we have some documentary fans out there - and this has reality tv and documentary all over it.

Ok, So Pink Team....

It's only the first episode and I already want to punch you in the throat. Not good, Betti Sue....Not. Good.

And, uh, you think green team had a couple of issues they should have dealt with before heading to the ranch?

Ok, So DSM....A Follow-Up...

I'm losing interest. The whole Karen wanting Nick thing is getting old. And now Tish is going to help? Why? We did at least get through one episode without Justin with no shirt on (chicken chest boy....>>shudder<<.)
Am I alone in this? Or am I just watching too much TV right now.

I will say this though, a possible shortened season is the only that that this show has going for it. Pee-u! Yet I keep watching? Why?

Ok, So All Caught Up On The Walker Clan...

Yeah, I decided I like the Brothers and Sisters. Sally Field reminds me of my mom...if my mom was...you know...Gidget back in the 60's.
Calista Flockhart really is kinda Ally McBeal v2.0 in this one. And the same for Rachael Griffiths Brenda from Six Feet Under, v2.0 (but with less threeways with the neighborhood skater dudes). But who would have thought that there would be a show where you could see Ally and Brenda together! And Gidget! And Nancy from thirtysomething. And Rob Lowe! And the guy from Lethal Weapon! And Smith from Sex and the City! Anyway, I am liking it and will watch it for the rest of the season (even if the season is only three or four more episodes.)

PS - not sure if I like the gay brother yet....I think I'll need to see him without his shirt on to know for sure...

Ok, So File This Under "Too Little...Too Late...."

From The AP:

NEW YORK - Paige Davis is moving back to TLC's "Trading Spaces." The Broadway actress and TV host will return to the once-popular home makeover series beginning in January, the network said in a statement Thursday. In 2005, TLC announced Davis would no longer host "Trading Spaces" and transitioned the series to a host-less format.

Um, really? Now, don't get me wrong, I used to love me some Trading Spaces. And while I liked the original host (whose name totally escapes me,) I learned to love the Paige, but I stopped watching BEFORE she was fired. The show just got too predictable, and it looked like more and more people were getting on with the intention of "hating" their rooms even if they loved them.

That being said, I'm sure I'll watch this. Because, you know, I'm a dork.

Ok, So Save The Cheerleader....

So, after we taped Episode 33 (look for it in about 20 minutes), Rodan and I were talking about the Writer's Strike. I was trying to catch up on many shows that I have taped (the only ones I have to watch now are ER and Brothers and Sisters). Anyway, Rodan brought up that maybe I shouldn't try and keep up with these marathon sessions that I have been doing, because there may not be a lot of new stuff coming on the air over the next few months. I said that was a good idea, but then didn't give it much more thought.

Until I read this, from ComicBookResources.com

"Think the Hollywood conflicts can't reach into your living room and affect you? A story in TV Guide says that the December 3rd episode is getting an "alternate ending" filmed in case it has to serve as a season finale. The strike started as of midnight Monday morning, with the Writers Guild of America and all their signatories instituting a work stoppage for financial reasons."
Yikes! Looks like they'll be stretching out Deal or No Deal episodes! If that's the case, then Yay! Less TV for me to watch!!!

Ok, So, Catching Up On The Boob Tube.....

Anyone else tired of this whiny bitch cryin all the time on The Biggest Loser?

Just sayin'......

In other more interesting television, I watched the first two episodes of this season's Ugly Betty. I didn't watch the show last year, so I am late on the bandwagon...you know, the way I am apparently late on the Pushing Daisies bandwagon. But I digress.

I am enjoying this show so very very much. I like just about everyone on it, but most of all....and this will come to a shock to all of you, I'm sure....Vanessa William's Wilhemina Slater. Whoever cast Williams in this shoud be given a fucking raise. She's campy, she's bitchy...She's Taffy if she wore white. I like the nephew, and rumor has it (don't spoil it for me!) that Mark gets a chubby boyfriend in the next few episodes. I have some questions, though:

1.) Who is this Fay person that Amanda claims is her mother (again, if she isn't, don't spoil it for me)?
2.) Why was the father down in Mexico, and why did he get stuck down there?
3.) Why was Judith Light's character (I love that her prison bunk mate calls her "fish," by the way) in prison?

Finally, I am all caught up on the Desperate Housewives, and I gotta say, I am in for the season. Oh, and Rodan? A reason for you to watch this season? Two Words.
Nathan.
Fillion.

Again, just sayin'.....
