Taylor walked 2.5 miles in 44 min, 18 seconds on 3/29/10 at 6:23PM with a pace of just under 18 minutes a mile...
(note: I'm not using the stats from the Nike+ stats for reasons stated below...)
Tonight, I decided to stroll around the neighborhood, walking out my front door, turning right and walking approximately 13 blocks, then going BACK down the street, walking 15 blocks, then turning back around and walking the two blocks back to my house.
I think I have my official least favorite route.
For one thing, the street only has sidewalks some of the time. Otherwise, you're walking in/on grass or the street. And when there ARE sidewalks, sometimes the pavement is cracked or crooked, or, in one case, coming up off the ground (due to a HUGE root in front of someone's house.)
I changed my settings for the Nike+ tonight to time instead of distance (yeah, the 2.5 I walked is only really reading on the iPod as like 1.78 or something like that. Whatev.) So I will be focusing on getting my time down even more, by including another .25 miles to my time over the next week. It probably means heading back to that little block park I talked about on Saturday, but it's important to me to slowly distance to my time. I would like to try and allow myself to have 2.75 miles in 47.50 minutes. My ultimate goal will be to do the 3.1 miles in about 50 minutes. But I have til June to do that. (16.1 minutes a mile)
