Ok so...Blackberry Sangria,to toast the New Year!

4 Cups Fresh Blackberries
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Water
2 Bottles (750 mil) Bottles Rose Wine
1 Cup Blackberry Flavored Brandy
1/4 Cup Sweetned Lime Juice
1 cup Ginger Ale (or sprite if you don't feel quite as Fancy)

• For the simple syrup; in a medium saucepan combine 2 cups of the berries, the sugar, water, and a dash of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes; cool slightly. Strain through a colander, pressing gently without crushing the fruit; discard berries. Cool syrup.
• For sangria; in gallon jar or picture combine the blackberry syrup, rose wine, brandy, lime juice, and fruit. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.
• Serve over ice. Makes 13 8 oz. cups.
