Ok, So 100 Things To Do Before I Die....

I honestly don't think I could come up with 100....I mean in thinking about it, I can come up with maybe 10 or 15 before I start getting into boring territory (like putting a roof on my house and shit like that)....Can a 100 list and a To Do list coexist peacefully in the same space? Discuss.

Well, I think it's something that is a work in progress because something that you might want on that list today, might not interest you in 6 months or a year from now.

I make those lists too and I have NEVER gotten even close to 20.

My lists always start with pay off debt. LOL! It never gets paid off and that's depressing and then I end up abandoning the whole list.

Pathetic!

And Taffy, I kind of do see it as a to-do list because it is goal-oriented.

Hmm, a 100 list and a to do list coexisting. THey would probably run together sadly. I think we want to make things easier for those we leave behind, so we would try to take care of the lose ends before we go, even if they are not the funnest things we could do. We could go sky diving, but then those we left behind would have to replace that tile in the bathroom that needs replaced. We would probably replace it so they could go sky diving. That is how I see it. Maybe I am wrong.

yes I believe it can. Why not? The "list" is whatever you want it to be. It can be anything from the mundane to the climbing of a mountain. It's what YOU think is important and what you want to accomplish. I also think putting it out there that you are doing one also helps make you accountable for trying to do them. Some of us need the those kind of list to help us.

Besides think how awesome it would be when you scratch those things off the list.

I assume they can co-exist because I'd thought that they were different in intent, the to do list being a reminder to do something, while a 'bucket' list list being a goal to work towards.

A friend of mine, now retired, is using the idea to good use, putting out a travel list of places she wants to visit so that friends and family can join her for her adventures

The issue I'd have with a 100 things list is that the number seems too large and unmanageable. It should really only be as long as you need it to be.

I agree with Babaloo -- the lists can be completely separate. But I'd also have a problem coming up with 100 things -- I've already DONE a lot of the stuff I've always wanted to do.

NO.

I can NEVER afford or be able to do the 100 things (or come up with a 100 to list).

My to do list never gets crossed off because life gets in the way. My dream of going back to Finland for a week or visiting New Zealand will never happen.

so i guess life is pretty meaningless then huh?
