I had to wear my rubber bands exactly this same way for a few months when I was in middle school. Ah...memories.
When I was in jr. high the kids who had braces used to wear them this way.. and then fling the bands across the lunch hall.. ew..
I remember the tv show though!
Apparently it's to pull the lower and upper jaw into alignment -- when I went in to get evaluated for braces, I was told I'd have to do this for a couple of months, as well.
Which is why I'm now saving up for Invisaligns.
I think the orthodontist is playing a cruel joke. That's crazy!
