Ok, So The Cherry On The Cake Of A Trying Afternoon....

So, after getting home from a trying visit this evening, I turn on my computer, as I am wanting to get some art done for the book I am working on, I go let the dogs out and make myself a nice tall drink of ice water with lots of ice. I come back in to the office about ten minutes later, and I find a variation on this.Needless to say, I was not pleased. I turned the computer off. Then turned it back on. Same thing.

I am proud to say I did not panic. Ok, that's a small lie, but I didn't freak out. I managed to find a number for technical support for the computer, and waited for about 15 minutes, the blue screen staring at me, mocking me. Eventually, I get Haji over in India, who is in the process of asking me questions like serial number and product type and blah blah blah.

Suddenly, the computer starts to boot up. It takes forever, but it does it. Haji informs me that I have TWENTY DAYS left on my one year warranty, and that he would be more than happy to help me investigate what is going wrong. Apparently, he thought that the problem may have been excess static on the motherboard (I had just gone through a few days where I left the computer on all the time - I usually turn it off at night). So I unplugged everything and held the power button for about 30-60 seconds. I plugged it all back in, and viola! Not only did it boot, but it booted up really fast!

Now, he tried to get me to buy an extended warranty, but I thought, nah! It would have been 160 bucks for 2 years, and, if I have my way, this thing will be in a landfill by the end of the year and I will be a MacBoy. Now, if you all will excuse me, I'm going to start backing up my stuff on an external hard drive!

Oh, and thanks, Haji! Excellent customer service is just as important to discuss as lousy customer service, of which I have bitched and complained on this thing many times. I was sure to let his supervisor know what a great job he did! See, I can be nice. Bitches.
