So, as I said in vPiMC, I wanted to work on my backyard...and here is what I did today! I took some before pics of the pathway and patio.
This is what it looked like this morning. Overgrown on the patio with weeds, grass and flowers. You can't even make out where the (overgrown) garden starts and the walkway begins. I knew I had limited time as the shade was going to be leaving me, and I don't do the working under the hot Florida sun thing if I can help it. So, I sat my ass on the ground, and started pulling. I pulled for about two hours, and got two thirds done... So I went food shopping, and hung out til the oak trees next door gave me some shade, then I finished up...
And here it is! You can make out the garden blocks now, and you can see where I trimmed back my bush (honk) so that it is a little more flush with the walkway. The only thing left to do, really, is get rid of all the leaves that are mingling with the rocks, but I figure I will wait til after my neighbor's dinner party/bbq he has going on in his backyard.
Of course, I never was invited to this party....hmmm...
I am off tomorrow, so I will work on that, plus my patio. I did do a little bit of work on that today, but I will wait and show those pics tomorrow.
While hard work, this was actually a little bit fun today. It was relaxing, sitting in the shade, catching up on podcasts (Live It Up, Qcast, NPR, Daily Purges) whilst pugs frolicked about me...Oh, and this black beauty you see before you? That would be Bug, Drum's little girl, who I am watching this weekend while he is away. Here she is again.

Taylor,
You are certainly welcomed to come up here and help me with my yard. What? Was that a swear word? Hmm...I guess that you would prefer just to come for a visit here in Music City without the pressure on having to work for your keep. Well...you and your cohorts have certainly earned a visit here at the Greyound Inn. Thanks for all the work that you do not only with your garden, but on your podcast and for being a friend to me.
Looking Good!
Your Nashville Friend,
Thom
