I have added a bunch of new shows to my podcasting subscriptions. I have really enjoyed some of them a lot! I know that I have always said I would try and promote other podcasts and blogs on this shows. Please give these shows a listen and if you like them, keep listening. If you don't care for it, well.....sorry :)
New shows I am listening to are (and in no particular order).....
Getting Single - a woman in Boston talks about being a divorcee in her mid 20s. Told in a prose style, this unnamed woman intersperses her show with music related to her feelings. I loved the first few episodes and LOVED LOVED LOVED the music. There have been a few cringe worthy moments (she does get a little male bashy a few times, which is frustrating), but that's the beauty of podcasting - you can say what you want, and people can respond to it!
Live It Up! - The new darling of the podcast community, Wes Stone talks about life in San Diego. I am actually listening to Episode 5 as we speak. I am normally not a fan of the personal journal podcast, but I like listening to Wes. He has a very relaxing voice and he keeps you interested in his show. Plus he said he enjoys our show when he was on Confessions of A Southern Boy last week, so the boy CLEARLY has good taste.....
NPR: Fresh Air - Originating out of the WHYY Studios in Philadelphia, Terri Gross interviews people from all facets of life and culture on a daily basis. Honestly, I look to see who she's talking to, and if it looks interesting, I'll listen to it (example: Tracy Ullman earlier this week).
Oprah and Eckart Tolle's "A New Earth" Online Class Podcast (video). - No Comments from the peanut gallery (and by peanut gallery, clearly I mean Taffy.)
The Smith's Occasional Podcast - This is probably the closest I will ever see to the Huffington clan doing a podcast. A family of three - Neil, Laura and daughter Mari - talk about their lives, Depeche Mode and BattleStar Galactica. And every episode, Mari shares a song with the listeners on her piano. They come out once a month, the show is usually about an hour long, and it's always enjoyable.
The WDW Radio Show - A DisneyWorld podcast. Given the amount of time I have been spending over in Orlando (and would spend more, trust me), it makes sense that I would be looking for something that gives news, rumours, and deep discussions about all things Mickey Mouse. The (average) 90 minute weekly show is a little daunting to me though - seems like a long time for a show every week, and I don't know if I am going to need to get SO deep into Disney Stuff. But, I like what I hear so far (Um, Top 10 foods to eat in World Showcase? Sign me up for THAT challenge), so I will keep listening.
ZenPunk Radio - A listener of our show, Dharmashanti talks about all things mystical and anti-establishment. I have only listened to one show so far, but was pleasantly surprised (I was expecting it to be a little more New Agey.) I am looking forward to her next show on isolation and finding solace within.
Oh, and while I have listened to it yet, I can say that I have officially downloaded my first Big Fatty Online. I was not a big fan of the LittleFattycast, but I have heard nothing but positive things about this show, and that sounds good enough for me to give it a shot. So, I'm drinkin the Kool-Aid!
And that is the point of this post. We all hear about new podcasts through word of mouth. That is how many of all of YOU heard about us, and if I can send a couple of new listeners to each of these shows, well, then it's the least I can do. Well, that and be a guest co-host :)
Hint, hint :)
I am going to be posting all the podcasts we listen to at PiMC over in the right hand column soon, but in the meantime, please check out these shows by searching for them in iTunes. Also, if YOU have a show or blog that you would like for us to promote, send me a note at podismycopilot@gmail.com, and I will check it out and put it on the site. Unless, it's you know, PiMCsucks.com or something like that. Then, well, you can blow me.
And a pleasant goodnight to all of you!

getting single is good, but I agree sometimes the male bashing is a little much.
Live it up! I love Wes and what makes it better is he lives 15 miles away from me and he's adorable.
The Smiths are my adopted family. I call laura smith mom.
big fatty is different from the LFC. He is charming and I adore him.
Hey There!
Thanks for the recommendation (and for listening!) I appreciate it!
It's interesting to read/hear feedback from others who've listened especially regarding the "male bashing" because I haven't heard that in my writing - my podcast is based on my blog about my divorce - and the only ppl I thought I was bashing was my ex and dumb girls (of which I clearly fell into that category!)
I've found the feedback helpful and insightful so, just wanted to say thanks!
Taylor, thanks so much for the very sweet recommendation! Our daughter was jazzed to know she got a blog mention... I will need to check out some of these shows I've not heard.
Thanks again!
Laura
PS - I've never been this close to Oprah before. Fabulous!
Does that mean you listen to me? Fabjous!
I do love the PiMC(p). You guys are always a blast. And by blast I mean colon blow.
And hands off Wes, bitches. He's mine.
