Ok, So....Rescue Me, Season 1

A co-worker of mine let me borrow Rescue Me: Season 1 last JUNE, and I just got around to watching it within the last few weeks.

I liked it. I really liked it. A LOT.

The show is going to be starting it's 5th season (I think) this summer, and I am going to be working desperately to try and get all caught up before it starts. For those of you not in the know, Dennis Leary stars as a firefighter in New York City Post 9-11. While he is the main character of the show, the show is really about the firefighters and how they are clearly a family. There is a LOT of comedy in this show, but many of the conversations and arguments have a realness to them you don't normally see in television. (There is a scene early on between Leary and his estranged wife that I may have seen between my own parents around 1986.) Plus there is lots of hot guys banging girls (who I ignore), and really, who wouldn't want to watch these guys getting out of the shower in the first episode?

So, in this writer's strike wasteland of a television season, if you are looking for something fun and well written to watch, grab this show!!!
