Ok, So...Do I really want a man who wears eyeliner...Um...Maybe

Make-up ... for Men? Maybe I 'm not thinking this through...
Make-up ... for Men?

Don't be surprised if very soon your toiletry kit contains not only shaving cream, deodorant and toothpaste, but concealer, oil-absorbing face powder and brow gel.
That's because guys are relying on an increasing number of made-for-men products like these to put their best face forward.
"I think men are much more receptive to the whole grooming concept from start to finish. Makeup is sort of the final frontier," says Wendy Lewis, a beauty consultant and author of
The Beauty Battle: An Insider's Guide to Wrinkle Rescue and Cosmetic Perfection from Head to Toe. "They're certainly concerned about camouflaging imperfections. The idea of a little light dusting of powder is no longer an extreme measure."

(What do you think readers...would you wear it?? Would you want your man to wear it??)

I know that this will sound as though I am picking on Taffy, but ...

Thank you Taffy for giving me a brief glimpse of how incredibly tedious it must be to be heterosexual.

My toiletry kit may soon include concealer? Girl, my toiletry kit has included concealer since I was old enough to buy it at the drugstore.

The whole concept that it is somehow wrong for men to wear makeup is just a stupid gender stereotype. Part of being gay - by definition - is denouncing stereotypical gender roles.

It really is funny to me what you straight-folk think is important.

I grew up in the straightest family of all time (and I'm a straight girl, not that there is anything wrong with that) and let me bro use coverup and my self tanner on his face because of his baseball cap "hat head". I'm surprised they haven't marketed this sooner!

I also sell Mary Kay - so if anyone, any gender, needs a little something just let me know! We even have a men's skin care line - finally. It's the same stuff as the women's but butched up in a nice silver/blue/black packaging.

daniel...my darling...
This is neither a hetero or homo idea...it is AN Idea...
I know alot of straight guys that LOVE eyeliner, and I know alot of gay men that don't.
I just wondered about all the fuss... I myself have been a drag queen trapped in a straight girls body forever!

I hate eyeliner...I had to wear it on stage in HS all the time...it is a pain in the behind.

HOWEVER...concealer...whole 'nother story...I would wear it if my complextion wasn't practically perfect in every way. =-)

I dunno. It really depends on the person. I love my boyfriend's face the way it is and don't think he should change anything. He's gorgeous just the way he is. The only time I've worn makeup is for costumes, and can't really imagine bothering with it. If I get a zit or blemish or something, meh, not a big deal. It's not the end of the world.

And daniel, I don't think its a heterosexual idea that men don't usually wear makeup. I'd say the vast majority of men (both straight and gay) don't. So it's not necessarily a misconception on Taffy's point. Not trying to sound contentious, just pointing that out.
