So, the post below this one was apparently from a show called Staircast to Stardom, a cable show originating from New York in the 80s (obviously). There are tons of other clips from this show on YouTube, and trust me, once Taffy gets to looking at them, she'll be bringing more to you, I'm sure. They are a fucking scream.
Anywho, it got me thinking about a show that used to be on after Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid in Philly. "Al Albert's Showcase," was on Channel 6 (ABC) about 12:30 or 1:00. Mr. Alberts was a doo-wop singer or something back in the 50's and 60's, and then he did this show, where people would come on and sing or dance. I remember when he would be on, there was always some little girl in a Shirley Temple dress with lots of ringlets and patent leather shoes singing "My Heart Belongs to Daddy," or some shit like that. And there were lots of pageants and stuff. After investigating just a tad on the YouTube, I found a clip. Sit back, and enjoy.
Oh, and the orange gentleman with the white hair would be Mr. Alberts.
