Okay...so I've always had a bit of a fear of ladders...I never understood why...now I do.
Yesterday I got up the energy to put together our pressure washer and start the process of cleaning our roof (pitched with flat cement tiles)...I had just finished applying the detergent and was heading down the ladder...I though the ground was much closer than it was...so i hopped down...turns out...I was still a little over 5ft in the air.
I hit the ground...heard a pop and another pop and fell on my back...lifted my leg up and my foot just flopped like a dead fish.
So the sprout and I made it to the emergency room...where I was placed in a cadaver room...or least a room that felt that way...and it looks like I broke it in at least 2 places (inner and outer) they splinted me up and sent me on my way.
oh...and did I mention they were very stingy with the pain killers. Both Taylor and Taffy know that I'm not much for pain killers...but they didn't even give me an aspirin. They would come by every 15 minutes or so...say "that looks like it hurts...I'll have a nurse bring you a pain killer" and no one would ever come with the killer of pain. about 5 minutes before I was about to leave...after they had splinted, wrapped and made me walk on crutches did anyone come by for the pain killer...and of course they gave me a tetanus (Sp) shot as well. grrrr.
And that pain killer...lasted 20 minutes
So the Sprout went to go fill the pain med script that they gave me...and guess what...they didn't sign the script...so now I'm nursing a broken ankle on Tylenol. So who says gay men can't take it like a man...well...you know what I mean.
And yes...this is the finale of the holy trinity of bad things coming in 3's. 1. Lost my husband (although he did return) 2. Lost my job and 3. Broke my ankle
So yeah...my turn for some good luck. =-)

Sounds like you and I have something in common. I, too, broke my ankle in two places, except I spent five days in the hospital and had four hours of surgery to implant two pins and a plate.
I'm practically bionic!
Ancient chineese proverb say: job coming, need bed rest, husband wait hand and (broken) foot...
