Ok, so take me out to the ballgame

Today was my work's staff appreciation day at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Florida. We were supposed to watch a game and enjoy the merriment, but the game didn't start til 5:30. But we were to be there at 2. Why, you ask?

Well, we had the first annual kickball tournament in which this roving reporter was a player. My team consisted of 15 people, and we were the Purple Predators. We didn't make it past the first round. But I got to run to two bases and was completely hoarse from all the screaming (no, really...SCREAMING) I did when people from my team were up to "bat." I was screaming half to make my team laugh, and half because I knew it was pissing off the other team, who was taking the game WAY too seriously. (It's a game....game is supposed to mean fun....) I also obtained my first sports injury, a small cut on my knee as I tried to catch a pop fly. Either way, I love my new purple t-shirt with my name across the back along with my number, "15."

After the kickball, we hung out, had a burger and a beer (or in my case, bottled water), and spent some time being silly and enjoying each other's company. I really love the people I work with - they are great. And many of them brought their spouses, who are also great. After the game started, we decided to leave and get some dinner, so we went to Applebee's.
Now, I must join Miss Taffy in something that she loves, because tonight I had the BRUSCHETTA BURGER. Oh. My. God! It was awesome. I know what I'm getting the next time Miss Taffy and I end up there. Oh, and the White Peach Sangria? Not so great, but I did enjoy it.

And that's what I did with my day. Now, still in my team t-shirt, I need to go shower, because this ho be stank.
