I've had 3 big updates on my job hunt...so I thought I would give everyone an overall update:
Resumes submitted - 50
Recruiters who have contacted me (without me sending a resume) - 7
Screening Tests/Essays (I swear these recruiters were English Teachers) - 4
1st Interviews - 3
On Wednesday I drove up to the sunny Tampa Bay area to have my first in-person interview...WooHoo! Of course they want me to work in Kentucky...yeah Kentucky. Based on Wednesday's American Idol...Kentucky is the land of illiteracy, black lung disease, and bad accents.
2nd Interviews - 2
Denials - 1
Yeah...I got my first denial. 1:33pm today...the company with a center in my home town called to tell me that it was close, but that they liked another candidate better.
Then at 2:56pm today...another recruiter called and they are flying me to Monroe, LA next Thursday. I will be interviewing with 3 Vice Presidents and the CIO of a major Telecom company. (Specific to the Mid-West).
So all in all...things are moving along. I am disappointed that the company located in my hometown didn't want me...but they are the smallest and least established of the other companies I'm interviewing with, so it may not be a bad thing.
