A time for reflection....a time for foaming at the mouth....

Ok,so Lent is upon us as of tomorrow. Lent, for those of you who don't know, marks the 40 days before Easter, and is a time in the Catholic faith where one gives up something they enjoy for 40 days as a show of....well, I don't know, but you just do it. I have had varying degrees of success over the years with Lent. Sometimes lasting mere hours, other times lasting 37 of the 40 days, like last year, when I accidentally put a potato chip in my mouth while setting up for a training we were doing at work. I realized what I had done, accepted I was going to go to hell, and continued setting up folding chairs...

This year I am going to be trying to give up something of epic proportions (for me, at least). I am giving up bread. And not just bread. I am giving up all baked goods. No bread. No muffins. No donuts, no cakes, no pies. No pizza which is going to be hard to do. no cookies. No pitas or flatbreads. No nuttin. I am almost ready to just say no flour of any kind (not the Lent lillies listed above - I mean processed flour), but I will allow myself cereal. One of the other hosts, who is not Catholic, but does the lent thing anyway, is giving up Starbucks. She'll be talking about that tonight after I give her her privliges for posting here. She is hesitant, as she thinks it is going to be difficult. Well, yeah it's difficult. That's why you do it. If it were easy to give up, I would be giving up working out for Lent.

The no eating baked goods should be interesting to post on here. I am curious as to how well I will fare. I am going to be letting you all know how I do. And if my ramblings seem a little more...well, rambling. Don't fret. I'm just going through carb withdrawl.

Now, it
