So, I was wandering around iTunes and I noticed they now have iTunes U. It is a place where universities all over the country have podcasts and programs on their schools, their admission programs, classes, etc. Well, one of the schools is University of South Florida, which offers, among other things, "Lit2Go." It offers audio versions of books that are read in grades k-12. Now, while I feel it is important for young minds to read, and am in no way condoning using these MP3 files instead of reading, for those of us who have been through the school machine, this is kinda cool. I looked all the way through, and while most things are poems and short stories, in the 12th grade tab, they have Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. The WHOLE thing!! It is broken up into chapters - no chapter is more than about 19 minutes long - most of them around 12-14 minutes.
I downloaded all 24 chapters, and plan on listening to them on the iPod over the next week or so. I'll let you all know how it turns out!!!
