OK, so I think we may have been able to handle not one, but TWO issues with the podcast.
First, I bought a(NOTHER) new microphone headset yesterday. The one Rodan has always sounds really good, so I just got the one he had. He and I played around with the skype recroder yesterday and he said, "It sounds like you are sitting next to me in the room." He sent me the file to listen to, and I have to say it sounded really good! I also was told about a program called Levelator that you put a .wav file in where people are talking at multiple levels (such as Taffy being so much louder than the two of us), and it evens everyone out. I know some of you have expressed concern that we are all at such obviously different levels, and hopefully, this program will help with that.
Secondly, I was speaking with Michael from qCast Ct. last night, and he told me of a way that different software that works on XP could work on Vista. There is a tab in the properties section of each program on your computer that is called compatability or something like that. You can choose which program the softawre worked best on. For example, I could pick Windows XP for the SkypeRecorder, and it should be able to run, and Vista mimics XP or something when running that program. Or something. I don't know. Michael told me that I should be able to use it for City of Heroes (He plays, too.) But I think I am more excited about the prosect of being able to be in charge of taping the podcasts again. But I don't know if this works or not. We were talking about it around midnight, and I was sleepies, so I decided I would check it out after work today.
I am supposed to be working at our Hospice House today for half the day, and the guy who is supposed to be telling me what I am doing and who I am working with is an hour late. Gotta love wireless cards for laptops, cuz I'm bored!
