So, I spent the better part of the afternoon in the Taffy's mother's pool, playing games with the littlest Huffington such as Who Can Stay Underwater The Longest, Who Can Get To the Other End of The Pool The Quickest, and Who Can Do A Handstand Longer. It was much fun, and the food was delish! So, I figure I come home, pick my song from iTunes and get on with my night...Easy, right?
I think I have a problem...
I can't find anything that interests me.
People who know me know I have an OBSCENE amount of music in MP3 form. Some of it is stuff I have bought, some of it is stuff I have borrowed, some of it is from Nap.....um My Aunt Nappy, who, um, gave me the stuff...yeah, that's it, gave me the stuff. Anywho, I have the ability to remember the title of the third hit from a one hit wonder, and chances are I have it already. So, I would type a song in to see if iTunes had it, then checked my library, and I already own it!!!
So what is a music dork to do?
Well, one avenue I went looking down on iTunes is all the old stuff from when I was in High School/College. I found all sorts of stuff from that era, and while I have a lot of the hits of that time, the other songs I own are on TAPE!! Which means I need to find all the rarities and unreleased as a single stuff. Things from albums like Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl," or Whitney Houston's second album, "Whitney." You know - butch stuff!
So, after wandering around, I found a song I always liked, and found the video, which I also liked, for what will be obvious reasons to anyone who knows me when you see it. This song reminds me of my frosh year at Eckerd College (91-92). I give you...Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend"
