I was excused from a local case because it was a sexual assault and I worked for Planned Parenthood and volunteered for the Rape Crisis Center at the time. When they asked me why I couldn't be impartial, I said because he's a man. Excused!
I did sit on a federal jury for a drug case - pretty interesting getting to hold a giant bag of crack.
