The guys from MST3K went on to make rifftrax (rifftrax.com) that you download and play alongside a movie.
I have actually had a lot of fun hosting monthly rifftrax parties... Last Saturday of every month.
The best so far was Battlefield Earth. Weekend after Next is Jurassic Park with guest host, Weird Al Yankovic

After being called ancient by the "people" at We're Mean Because You're Stupid, I've decided to abandon them and start listening to Pod Is My Copilot -- it'll take me a couple of days to work through the archive, but so far I'm loving it.
